How to install Portrait Heinrich

Import into Lightroom
Follow the steps below. Installation instructions are also in the download.

Click, then fine-tune
Apply a preset, then adjust exposure and white balance to suit each photo.
Lightroom Classic (7.3 and later)
- Open the Develop module.
- In the Presets panel, click +, then Import Presets…
- Select the .xmp files (or the ZIP) and click Import. Lightroom Classic 15 no longer accepts .lrtemplate files, so always use the .xmp folder.
Lightroom desktop & Lightroom mobile
- Lightroom desktop: open a photo in Edit, click Presets, then ⋯ › Import Presets… and choose the .xmp files. They sync to mobile when you're signed in.
- Lightroom mobile: save the files to your phone, open a photo, tap Presets › Yours › ⋯ › Import Presets, and pick the files.
Adobe Camera Raw
- Open a photo in Camera Raw and go to the Presets panel.
- Open the ⋯ menu, choose Import Profiles & Presets… and select the .xmp files.
Older Lightroom (4, 5, 6, Classic up to 7.2)

Hands down the best Lightroom presets for portrait photography.

Get this if you want to save time, and I mean huge loads of time! Sure, for more ground-breaking editing you can use Photoshop (it isn't the easiest software to deal with). But when you are running a photo-booth business and have to edit hundreds of photos a day, Photoshop isn't a very clever option. All I need is Lightroom plus these presets. I would say 2 minutes of editing can give you crazy good results, very close to what I would usually get if I spent half an hour in Photoshop.

Here's an honest review after one month using Portrait Heinrich. I'm a studio owner in Singapore and we handle a ton of portrait photography projects, mainly for clients who need their photos taken for company profiles. Previously we used a combination of Photoshop for heavy editing when needed plus tweaks in Lightroom. Today we only use Photoshop to resize images. Everything else, 99% of the work, is done in Lightroom with Portrait Heinrich installed. Seriously, with just one click it is capable of so much. It is very efficient, and the brushes really help for photos that need more work, like enhancing the eyes. What I'd love to see is more brushes, and maybe the ability to change the colour of the hair or something else we can experiment with.

Edited tons of photos with this already. It’s easy and straightforward. The brushes work very well; some of them have two versions, so you can use a light or heavy brush for the effect you want. I’ve never bought any Lightroom presets before, so I can’t really compare it with others, but I think Portrait Heinrich is just perfect for me.
